Bridge in Nantong
Project Vitals:
Client: Nantong Xinyuan Construction Engineering Co., Ltd.
Application: Temporary construction access bridge for a school expansion
Location: Rugao, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, China
Configuration: Type 200, Single-Row, Single-Layer, Reinforced (SSR), Through-Type
Load Capacity: 80 tons (80T)
A High-Performance Access Solution for Civil Construction:
This project provided a critical temporary access route for the expansion of a primary school in Nantong. The core requirement was a rapidly deployable bridge capable of supporting a constant flow of heavy construction vehicles, including fully-loaded 80-ton trucks.
Engineering Highlights & A Cost-Effective Design:
Efficient High-Strength SSR Configuration: The bridge was engineered using a Type 200, Single-Row, Single-Layer, Reinforced (SSR) truss configuration。 While being a highly efficient and economical setup, the addition of reinforcing chords enables this single-row structure to achieve an impressive 80-ton load capacity over its 21-meter span.
Rapid All-Steel Installation: The prefabricated superstructure is supported by a substructure of 630mm diameter spiral steel pipe piers。 This integrated, all-steel bridge system eliminates the need for concrete curing, drastically reducing installation time and allowing the main construction project to proceed without delay.
Durable, Maintenance-Free Decking: To withstand the punishing, high-frequency traffic of a construction site, the bridge features a heavy-duty, maintenance-free deck system, ensuring safety and reliability throughout the project's duration.
A Benchmark for Efficient Construction Bridging:
The Nantong school expansion project is a perfect example of how our most streamlined reinforced bridge configurations can be leveraged for extreme-load applications. It demonstrates an optimal balance of performance, cost, and speed, making the SSR Bailey bridge an ideal solution for temporary access in civil construction.
