Engineering an Ultra-High-Capacity Work Platform:
This unique project for a municipal construction client in Suzhou required a specialized, short-span deck-type trestle bridge with an extraordinary load-bearing capacity. The primary challenge was to support an extreme, concentrated load of 100 tons over a 9-meter gap, primarily for the passage or operation of heavy crawler cranes.
Technical Highlights & A Custom-Engineered Solution:
Ultra-High-Density Deck-Type Support: To achieve the extreme 100-ton load rating, a highly specialized deck-type, 10-row, single-layer configuration was engineered。 In this powerful design, ten parallel lines of Type 321 trusses are arrayed side-by-side directly beneath the roadway deck, creating a wide, high-density foundation. This method ensures the immense load is evenly distributed across all structural members, making it a superior solution for extreme short-span, heavy-load requirements.
Unobstructed, Wide Work Platform: As a deck-type structure, the bridge provides a completely open and unobstructed 8-meter-wide double-lane platform。 This is ideal not only for vehicle transit but also serves as a stable semi-permanent over-water work platform for construction activities.
Durable Protective Finish: All steel components are coated with a high-performance anticorrosive paint, ensuring the structure's durability and safety throughout its service life as a semi-permanent installation.
